Last Friday in May Bear

220×5x5 and 210×5x5, presses with 16kg kb to focus on the lat… I am pumped for the extended weekend! Please everyone remember those who have served our country this weekend, amazing people to protect our freedom and lives!

Last Wednesdays Bear

I did the Bear at 215×5x5 and 205×5x5. Presses were pure bodyweight to focus on the lats…..

Thursday, Yoga time

I’m trying to find the right mix of weight training and cardio…. I decided to take a different approach today and did Tony Horton’s One on One Fountain of Youth, yes, yoga. It felt great…. man I sweat a lot! When I am DL’ing, I am looking up too much which causes neck strain and discomfort the following day – not good. I’ll definitely be incorporating some yoga into the mix, not only for the benefits of yoga, but also that I’m getting a little bored of the Insanity workouts….

Sitting in an ice bath for 20 minutes, reduce lactic acid buildup?

I caught part of the prelims for the UFC Fight on Saturday, Evans vs. Jackson is the main ticket. They were showing the workouts the fighters are doing, and at one point, the trainers had Evans in an ice bath for 20 minutes. They briefly mentioned that doing so causes the blood to rush to your core and with it the lactic acid is pulled from the muscles allowing Evans to continue to workout. Any truth to this? Pretty interesting….
